Follow the Mayor: Press Photographers Association Greater Los Angeles

3/1/11 – Mayor Foster attended the Press Photographers Association Greater Los Angeles (PPAGLA) chapter’s 75th Anniversary Historical Photo Exhibit at the Queen Mary this morning.

The photo exhibit features Pulitzer and historical photographs of Los Angeles, Southern California and the world taken by members of PPAGLA. The Historical Photo Exhibit runs March 1 – May 31.

Follow the Mayor around Long Beach…

Mayor Foster went to the Pacific Islander Ethnic Art Museum to interview director Brenna Barrett for an upcoming Heart of the City.

The Mayor also went to visit Dana Library in the 7th District to read to children during “First Books on First Fridays.”

Did you know that BMX racing started in Long Beach 40 years ago? Mayor Foster presented a certificate to owner Scot Breithaupt in celebration of BMX’s 40th anniversary.

The Mayor ended his evening by stopping by the Cambodian Health Professionals Association of America during their fundraising dinner to benefit Project Angkor. This inaugural mission will send 50 volunteers to provide primary medical care to underserved areas of Cambodia.
